Marshall County Jail Release Paths
Leaving Marshall County Jail can mean several things. A person may bond out, finish a county term, leave after dismissal or another court order, enter treatment, or return to the community under other lawful terms. The person may instead go to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections after sentencing, another county on a warrant or hold, or a federal authority. The building exit alone does not show which path occurred.
The local booking and release or disposition record is the best source for the county event. Ask for the date and time the booking closed, the disposition code, the releasing authority, and any destination or receiving agency recorded and releasable. A VINE event may give a timely status change when the booking is in the participating feed, while the Marshall County District Court docket may explain the bond, dismissal, sentence, or order behind the move. Neither substitutes for the county record.

Confirm Marshall County Jail Release
The sheriff's official page sends “Inmate Custody Status” inquiries to VINELink. That makes VINE the county-published online route, but no separate coverage list reviewed for the project confirms that every local booking appears. A no-result may reflect spelling, feed coverage, delay, or an aged-out event. It is not proof of release.
- Gather the full name, date of birth if known, arrest date, arresting agency, and case or booking number.
- Search the named person through Oklahoma VINE and record when the search was made.
- Call the sheriff at 580-795-2221 and use option 3 for the published records contact.
- Send a narrow written request for the closed booking and release or disposition entry.
- Follow any named receiving agency instead of treating transfer as a community release.
- Compare the result with the District Court case when the legal basis matters.
Marshall County has no official public jail roster or release archive. Use a positive event and the custodian's dated record, not search absence.

Marshall County Jail Records Contact
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office operates the jail and publishes separate jail-administration and records contacts. The office listing says “Open 24/7,” but it does not state that the records function handles requests at all hours. Call ahead before an in-person records visit.

No sheriff release-record request form is posted on the county forms page. Include the person, date range, booking or case number, arresting agency, exact release fields, and preferred delivery method in an email or letter. Ask about fees and completion time before authorizing paid work. The county's $2 incident-report fee is not a published price for a release record or photograph.
Marshall County Jail Record Fields
Marshall County publishes no data dictionary, so the exact field names and codes may differ from the terms used in a request. Ask for the substance of each item and invite the custodian to explain an abbreviation. A useful response ties one person to one booking and states how that booking ended.

A booking photograph is a separate item. Ask for it in the same request but in its own sentence. The county does not promise that a photo exists, will be released, or has a set fee. If a field is withheld, request the legal basis. If a code is unclear, ask whether it came from the jail-management system or another agency.
Marshall County Jail Custody Role
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is the operator. Its official page names Samuel Craft as jail administrator and places the facility in Madill. The same building is also called the Marshall County Detention Center in ODOC material. That alternate name does not identify a second jail or a separate state prison.
Marshall County has no current ODOC prison, Bureau of Prisons institution, or ICE detention facility identified in the official facility sources reviewed. A 2018 ODOC PREA contract-facility audit entry shows a state relationship with the county detention center during that period. It does not show that the site is now a state prison. Someone sentenced to ODOC may remain locally while awaiting transport, and departure from the county building may be only the start of state custody.
The jail record and the court file also serve different purposes. Jail staff record the custody transition. The District Court docket records legal events. A court order can support release, but the physical time of exit and any receiving agency belong in the jail or receiving custodian's record.
Marshall Municipal Jail Releases
A state operational audit documented reimbursements from Madill and Kingston for holding city prisoners in the county jail. That finding explains a local records mismatch: the arresting officer may work for a city while the booking and release record sits with the county sheriff.
The audit is historical. It does not prove that the custody terms are unchanged today. The official Kingston Police listing confirms that police agency, but the directory entry concerns an Rx drop-off site and does not establish an operating city lockup. A present-day inquiry should confirm where the person was booked rather than rely on an old “city jail” label.
When a municipal arrest leads to a county booking, give both agency names in the request. That helps the records contact locate the correct episode. If the sheriff confirms that a new booking was housed elsewhere, continue with that facility's custodian.
Marshall County Replacement Jail
A March 2018 construction report said the replacement jail was complete and had hosted an open house while awaiting fire-marshal review. It reported a $5 million budget, room for 110 inmates, a pod design, video visitation, and central monitoring. The report said the space nearly doubled that of the former facility.

Marshall County Jail Release Logistics
No official source reviewed publishes a daily release time, weekend or holiday procedure, exit door, family waiting point, or property-return process. The 24/7 office label does not fill those gaps. Ask jail administration about the present procedure before making a pickup plan. A court hearing time is not a reliable physical release time because staff may still need to process records, conditions, property, or another hold.
JAMM Transit publishes a Madill town route and a Marshall County office at 401 E. Main St., but it does not list a jail stop or a release-pickup arrangement. The published town route runs on weekdays with limited Saturday hours. Call 580-440-0474 for the current stop and schedule, and arrange another option for nights or Sundays.
Confirm the recorded destination first. A ride to the community is relevant only after staff establish that no other custodian will receive the person.
Note: Current release logistics are unpublished, so direct jail confirmation should precede travel and any family pickup plan.
Marshall Historic Prison Record Limits
The Aylesworth State Prison Farm can appear in local corrections history, but it is not a current facility. The Oklahoma Historical Society says it operated from 1916 through 1925. The state later divided and sold the land.
No present release, locator, booking, or records inquiry should be directed there. A historical reference to Aylesworth also does not show that a current Marshall County detainee entered ODOC custody. Use the actual booking record and named receiving agency for a modern case. Current records remain with current custodians.
